SCFA Represents
The Sierra College Faculty Association represents over 800 faculty working as professors, librarians, nurses, coordinators, counselors, and coaches, full- and part-time, at Sierra College. SCFA, with CTA, is recognized by the Sierra Community College District as the exclusive representative of instructional and non-instructional faculty, pursuant to District Resolution No. 76-19, as amended, in 1997. SCFA Advocates
SCFA advocates for the general welfare of faculty as the exclusive bargaining representative of all full- and part-time faculty in matters relating to employment conditions and employer-employee relations and grievances, including but not limited to, wages, hours, and working conditions.
SCFA Leads
SCFA leads by the votes of the active dues-payers in our faculty bargaining unit. They elect an Executive Board and Representatives who together, make up the Representative Council. The Executive appoints a Dispute Resolution Officer, a Bargaining Team, and an Elections Committee. Our Leadership is comprised of both full- and part-time faculty. Our members drive our Union and empower our Bargaining Team at the table.
